The slider options allow you to change sound and video on the fly. This can range from a system's volume through to screen position and brightness.
This option also allows you access to the HLSL screen effects which allows you to see the effects of its many options in realtime. To enable this part you will need to have the -hlsl_enable
option on the command line or 1 next to hlsl_enable
in the mame.ini
file. You can also enable HLSL in the "Video Options" available on the "Configure Options" menu on the main UI screen.
Although the standard options are saved when you close MAME, the HLSL options aren't at the moment. What you can do though, is to note down the values and add them to the mame.ini
file or create your own custom config file. A guide to do this is on the Config Files page available from the home screen.
